Steamboat winter carnival
Steamboat Springs’ Winter Carnival begins Feb. 4. In its 102nd year, this winter tradition includes events on and off the mountain, like a Soda Pop Slalom, Vintage Ski Fashion Show, a street parade with an obstacle course, a donkey jump, a shovel race and more. The final day of the carnival is Feb. 8.
Whiskey Warm Up
The Estes Park “Whiskey Warm Up” is Feb. 6-8. Those over 21 can get toasty by sipping whiskey during the grand tasting event on Saturday, and families can enjoy face painting, pony rides, a s’mores bar and winter art walks throughout the weekend. Tickets to the tasting event begin at $45.
Sled and celebrate Rocky’s 100th
Grand Lake’s Winter Carnival is Feb. 7. This year, the carnival will celebrate Rocky Mountain National Park’s Centennial with a special Wilderness, Wildlife and Wonder parade, along with annual carnival activities like teapot curling, a wild-snowman contest, bed-sled races, a family sled pull and more.
Lake City ice climbing
Lake City’s Ice Climbing Festival is Feb. 7. Men and women can compete in top-roped and lead speed events for a $25 entry fee. An awards ceremony with prizes for the best climbs will conclude the festival.
