Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr., who recently signed a contract extension with Denver, says that backup quarterback Brock Osweiler needs to see more game action and get more familiar with Gary Kubiak’s offense. Once he does, he could be as good as one Super Bowl-winning quarterback: Joe Flacco.
“Gary Kubiak is a great fit for Brock,” Harris told The Sports Show on Friday with Woody Paige and Les Shapiro from Radio Row. “Brock is Joe Flacco Jr. He has the big arm. He’s tall like Joe. He’s mobile. He’s the same mobile as Joe.

Osweiler threw his first career touchdown pass this season against the Oakland Raiders to tight end Virgil Green. Osweiler has been criticized for not playing well in the games he’s entered — including the end of the first half last season against the San Diego Chargers, when Peyton Manning went to the locker room to treat an injured thigh. Broncos GM John Elway maintains that Osweiler is the future quarterback for the Broncos, once Manning retires.
“To bring a guy like Kubiak that’s worked with Joe Flacco last year and had success with him,” Harris said. “I think in the future, Kubiak’s a better fit for Brock than Gase would be offensive-wise.”
That said, Harris believed bringing Manning back again for the 2015 season was extremely important.
“He’s our leader,” Harris said. “We want him to come back definitely.”
