Beaver Creek — Front Range ski resorts got a dump of new snow Monday morning with 6-8 inches falling here, but that presented complications for the world alpine ski championships.

The first run of women’s downhill training that was scheduled for 10:45 a.m. on the Raptor downhill course has been delayed until 1 p.m. for snow removal, and it could be cancelled. That would be frustrating for those who will be racing in Tuesday’s women’s super-G on Raptor. The super-G gate set will be much different from the downhill, but a training run today would at least give them a chance to train on that slope.

It was also frustrating for dozens of kids of Stone Creek Charter School in Avon, who are in the finish area chanting “Go USA” and beating air-filled noisemakers. They seem to be having a great time, enjoying their day off from school, though.
