LOVELAND — The owner of the Loveland pet-treat company hit with a recall on Friday said the affected product wasn’t sold in Loveland but in Estes Park.
The Food and Drug Administration sent out a notice that Grill-Phoria LLC was recalling 200 packages of Big Bark All Natural Beef Jerky Treats for Dogs because they could be contaminated by salmonella.
On Monday, Mark Johnson, owner of Grill-Phoria and distributor of Nor-Sky Pet Supply Distributors, said the company’s products are sold by independent retailers across the country.
The recall affects Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and Oklahoma, according to an FDA release. The product in question, a 3.5-ounce stand-up bag that retails for about $9, was sold in two locations in Estes Park but none in Loveland, Johnson said.
