COLORADO SPRINGS — Firefighters battling a Fountain house fire early Wednesday discovered a person dead inside, said Chief Darin Anstine of the Fountain Fire Department.
The fire at 943 Candlestar Loop South and the death “are not related,” Anstine said. Few details on how the person died have been released.
A person who lives at the house, Keith Myers, was located by Colorado Springs police at an apartment in west Colorado Springs at about 8 a.m.
Police had been searching for him and said Myers is a person of interest in the case. Officials said Myers is cooperating.
