LARAMIE, Wyo. — Wyoming coach Larry Shyatt says leading scorer Larry Nance Jr. has been diagnosed with a mild case of mononucleosis.
In a short statement issued Friday, Shyatt says Nance will be monitored on a day-to-day basis.
There was no word on whether Nance would play Saturday when the Cowboys travel to Air Force.
His absence would be a major blow to Wyoming (18-4 overall, 8-2 Mountain West).
Nance leads the Cowboys in scoring with 16.3 points a game and rebounding with 7.2 a game.
He is the second Wyoming player to come down with the illness.
It was announced Monday that forward Alan Herndon is out indefinitely. He missed Wednesday’s game against Colorado State.
But Shyatt says Herndon’s condition has improved and will be evaluated day-to-day.
