ASPEN — Four charges have been filed against an Aspen teenager whose Feb. 6 arrest has sparked community debate about police tactics and teen behavior.
Prosecutor Andrea Bryan filed misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest, obstructing police, underage possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police Chief Richard Pryor says the officers’ actions were appropriate. A video showed an officer applying pressure behind the teen’s ear as the 16-year-old screams that he hasn’t done anything illegal.
