Two teenagers have been charged with the drive-by pellet gun shooting of a 15-year-old girl outside Broomfield High School last week, police said Tuesday.
Anthony Estrada, 19, of Northglenn, and Travon Graham, 18, of Broomfield, were issued summons for third-degree assault and reckless endangerment. Graham, who was driving the vehicle the gun was shot from, has also been charged with conspiracy, police said.
Investigators say they believe Thursday’s drive-by was a random act.
The girl, a student at the high school, was sitting on school grounds when a vehicle passed by and she heard what sounded like an air gun.
“She then felt pain in her abdomen and realized she had been shot with a BB pellet,” police said. “One of the male occupants of the vehicle yelled an expletive at (her).”
Police said they believe Estrada fired the pellet.
The teens are due in court on April 1.
