Colorado officials are considering changing the standards for high school graduation. (Thinkstock)
Re: “Don’t weaken Colorado graduation standards,” Feb. 15 editorial.
Thank you for speaking up in support of maintaining standards for high school graduates. Science and social studies prepare us to make intelligent, informed decisions as we go through life.
Itap important to remember that a poorly educated populace is more easily manipulated by political forces and individuals with abusive intent. As letter-writer Truman Sager (Feb. 15) asked, “Why dumb down our younger generations?”
This state needs young people with better educations, not worse.
