1 Front door harassment. A woman called police to her home in the 12700 block of East Asbury Circle because another woman she works with came to her door and tried to kick it in Jan. 31. The suspect was gone before police arrived, so police tried to call her with the victim’s phone. When she answered, she refused to say why she damaged the door, where she lived or what her last name was, so there were no charges.
2 Blackened windows. An employee at Altura Elementary School was getting ready to go home Jan. 30 when she realized that someone spray painted the passenger and back windows on her car black. The car was parked at East 17th Avenue and North Fairplay Street. There are no suspects.
3 No money for fare. A taxi cab driver flagged down a patrolling officer Feb. 7 because a woman in the cab couldn’t pay her nearly $70 bill after she arrived at North Galena Street and East Colfax Avenue. The woman said she thought her friend was going to help her pay, but he apparently changed his mind. The friend told police to just take her to jail, which they did.
4 Backyard burglar. After returning from the store Feb. 2, a man realized that someone stole his laptop and tablet from his home in the 1700 block of South Nucla Street. Police noted footprints in the snow that led from the backyard fence to the sliding door in the kitchen.
