Saturday-Sunday: Yes, there’s a lot of dance in Denver this weekend, giving consumers a rare chance to choose among some excellent selections. One option is local favorite Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, which hits the Newman Center. ASFB has a certain vibrancy few companies can match. There’s a Western spirit to it, an openness to new ideas and choreographers that has made it the best contemporary troupe in region. Unlike other companies who develop works in-house, ASFB made its reputation working with talented dance makers near and far, commissioning a considerable 27 new pieces since 1996 by such names as Jorma Elo, Trey McIntyre and Cayetano Sotoe. 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday, Newman Center, 2344 E.
