Saturday: Any self-respecting parent has puzzled over how to fill the seemingly endless hours of the day for their not-yet-school-aged children. How to be productive, educational and entertaining without setting up shop at the library or art museum for the millionth time? The 12th annual Colorado Baby and Kidz Expo has a few (dozen) ideas. Part convention, part carnival, the event peddles not only the latest gadgets, toys and parent-friendly services, but diversions including arts and crafts, a petting zoo, an obstacle course, photos with characters like SpongeBob Squarepants, “derby races,” a magic show, train rides, live sing-alongs with Disney characters and more. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Feb. 21 at the National Western Complex, 4655 Humboldt St. $5-$10; kids under 12 free. 303-400-3470 or
