A Jefferson County grand jury has returned a 35-count indictment against a man who escaped from jail and allegedly went on a 10-day crime spree.

Travis Edward Sandlin, 33, faces multiple felony counts of burglary, criminal trespass, identity theft and motor-vehicle theft, among other charges, according to the Jefferson County district attorney’s office.

Sandlin, who escaped from the Jefferson County Jail on Oct. 5, was in Boulder after ramming an armored SWAT vehicle with a stolen van.

While on the run, Sandlin, a convicted sex offender, allegedly stole seven cars across six Front Range cities, prosecutors said. They allege he also broke into garages and houses, stealing laptops, CDs, credit cards and other items. He’s also accused of using stolen credit and debit cards at retailers.

Sandlin is being held at the Jefferson County jail in lieu of a $250,000 bond. An advisement hearing will be scheduled this week.
