The Colorado Rapids sent out an invite this week to the club’s March 5 season kickoff party and jersey unveiling, and it didn’t take long to fuel speculation that the Rapids’ new alternate kits will be bathed in yellow.
The invite shows a yellow background under a red and blue Rapids’ logo — all colors of the Colorado state flag.
The Rapids will be unveiling the new second kit to go with it’s burgundy first kit at the Tavern Downtown between 6 and 9 p.m., as it sunsets .
The Rapids are staying mum about the social media speculation, but did issue this statement Thursday:
“On March 5, fans will get the first look at our players in the new alternate jersey, which we’re confident will be a popular replacement to the Colorado blue we wore the previous two seasons.”
