OURAY — Workers have successfuly recovered a car that plunged more than 400 feet off Red Mountain Pass, killing the driver.
The pass was closed for several hours during the recovery, the Ouray County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.
The body of 26-year-old Jin Junge of Denmark, missing since Feb. 4, was recovered along with the vehicle.
It took several days to locate the rented Cadillac Escalade, which left the highway on a steep area of the pass. The SUV was white and hidden by snow.
GPS in the car helped authorities find it Wednesday in the stream bed of the Uncompahgre River.
