Cocktail Classic
The third annual Après Ski Cocktail Classic is March 5-8. This event takes place at locations throughout Aspen and Snowmass and includes multiple tasting and pairing dinners, a grand tasting, demonstrations with mixologists, pop-up bars, a ski pub crawl and more. Ticket prices per event vary.
Skijoring Leadville
The Leadville Ski Joring and Winter Carnival weekend is Mar. 6-8. Watch or participate with a team in the weekend’s many competitions, which vary from skijoring, Nordic sprints, paintball biathalon and a winter bike race.
Ice fishing contest
Grand Lake’s Catch and Release Ice Fishing Contest is March 7-8. In its fourth year, the contest features a welcome party, door prizes, a children’s art contest and an awards ceremony for top catches in lake trout, rainbow trout and brown trout. Entry fee is $40.
Big Air on Elk
The seventh annual Big Air on Elk in Crested Butte is March 7. Come out to Elk Avenue beginning at 7 p.m. to watch this ski and snowboard big-air competition, and stick around after for the live music and festivities throughout downtown. 970-343-9196 or
