EAGLE — An admitted embezzler will not be granted probation, District Court Judge Paul Dunkelman ruled.

Allison Butler-Coyle admitted stealing $122,884.26 from three businesses. She has repaid $3,696.26 — 3 percent — since she was sentenced in October 2013.

Butler-Coyle asked Dunkelman to change her sentence from community corrections — a halfway house/work release program — to straight probation so she can drive a car and get a second job in an effort to more quickly pay restitution.

Prosecutors, who argued against probation, calculated it will take at least 20 years at her current rate for Butler-Coyle to make restitution, excluding interest.

Her public defender said she was not a risk and probation would not be a significant change.
