Two men were hospitalized with gunshot wounds, one of them in critical condition, following an incident Tuesday afternoon in Aurora.
Aurora police said officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of North Beeler Street at about 3:18 p.m. on multiple reports of unknown parties firing weapons.When officers arrived on scene they were unable to locate any victims or suspects, however, other officers sent to the 50 block of North Newark Street discovered the critically-injured man.
A short time later, officials said, officers were dispatched to Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver where the second man had arrived with a gunshot wound. He was taken from Saint Joseph Hospital to Denver General Hospital. Police said the man had non-life threatening injuries and is in good condition.
Police said both men were involved with the original call at the 1900 block of Beeler. Their identities were not revealed, with police adding that there may be additional parties there may have been additional parties that may have been involved in the incident that have not yet been identified.
During the search for those suspects, police said, several schools were placed on lockdown.
