When we broke the news last month that for riding on a luggage carousel at DIA, people immediately had some questions: You can get arrested for that? Puddle of Mudd is still a band? Can we see footage of him riding around on the luggage carousel?
Well, here you have it. of what is allegedly Scantlin riding around on the carousel and subsequently getting arrested.
Scantlin was taken into custody on Jan. 16 after he was seen running “behind the large-item baggage carousel” and then came “out of the secured area through an alarmed door” and walked outside, according to a Denver Police report.
Let’s walk you through the video:
0:02: Scantlin (dressed in orange, making him easy to spot) gently glides in from the right side of the screen standing in the carousel. Look at how much fun he’s having!
0:17: The orange figure hops off the carousel. That was brief! But just like roller coasters, it might be a short ride, but it’s the thrill of it that matters.
0:29: He walks off with some friends, certainly re-telling every second of the wild ride. A man in a yellow vest is following closely behind.
1:28: After wandering around the baggage claim area (trying to look innocent?), the camera angle switches and it appears that Scantlin is exchanging words with the man in the yellow vest. Scantlin appears to wave him off and walk away. But there’s another guy, this one with an official looking badge around his neck.
2:19: An agitated Scantlin picks up his bag and walks off. But before he exits the screen he turns and points back to whomever is standing behind, as if to say, “you’re not my fourth grade teacher, you can’t scold me for playing on things.”
2:30: The camera switches to an outside shot. It pans right and…
2:49: Our man in orange is in handcuffs being escorted by three cops — two on foot and one on a Segway (maybe called in for backup?).
The singer was flying into town for a Jan. 16 show at Casselman’s with Lola Black, The promoter posted on Facebook complaining of Scantlin’s arrest, which made him late for that night’s show.
So if you haven’t heard yet Wes the lead signer from Puddle Of Mudd decided to take a joy ride on the carousel at the airport this morning thru restricted access and got arrested. We have been on this all day and he is just about to be release from Jail and will head straight to the venue. The show will go on but that is why we are running late. #****ingrockstars
