1 Meth-smoking, beer- drinking man cusses out police. A man urinating on the sidewalk Feb. 6 in the 13300 block of West 64th Avenue in Arvada cussed out police as he drank a can of beer and tossed the can into bushes when asked to quit. The discovery of two meth pipes led to him being arrested on charges of littering, public urination, open container and possession of drug paraphernalia.
2 Illicit drug use in Taco Bell bathroom. Taco Bell employees at 5325 W. 80th Ave. in Arvada called police Feb. 5 to report two men acting strangely. One of the men admitted to using heroin in the bathroom. He was arrested after a search found syringes and 3.5 grams of heroin.
3 Driver loves sobriety test. A man witnesses say was driving 35 mph over the speed limit near the 9300 block of West 68th Avenue on Feb. 6 fled on foot after smashing into a concrete barrier. He returned 30 minutes later and told police he’d “be happy to take a sobriety test.” He failed and was arrested.
4 Burglar tries to keep warm. Homeowners repeatedly told a man caught entering their garage in the 5400 block of Balsam Courtin Arvada on Feb. 10 that he had to leave. The man said he was cold and looking for shelter and was arrested after giving police a false name.
5 Restraining order ignored. Police responding to a fight between between two female drivers Feb. 9 near West 62nd Avenue and Olde Wadsworth Boulevard arrested one of the passengers for violation of a protection order after he gave police a false name.
