Mesa Ridge junior Kylee Shook capped off the regular season Feb. 19 with a quadruple-double effort in a 75-27 win over Woodland Park. Shook scored 24 points, grabbed 22 rebounds, blocked 12 shots and dished out a career-best 11 assists.
Shook has been on a tear all season, averaging 18.9 points, 15.3 rebounds and 8.2 blocks (that’s no typo) for the 16-7 Grizzlies this season. Earlier this year, she broke Maranatha Christian’s Angela Pearson’s state record for most career blocks. Pearons had 436, Shook has 491 — and counting.
Depending on how far Mesa Ridge advances in the 4A state tournament, she could break Peyton’s Samantha Patterson’s single-season record of 202. Shook has 189 right now.
