Nearly 24 years after the release of Toejam and Earl for the Sega Genesis, one of the co-creators of the series is looking to recapture the spirit of the original.
“It’s time to make that true sequel, the one we wanted to make back then,” designer Greg Johnson said.
Humanature Studios launched a $400,000 Kickstarter campaign to make Toejam and Earl: Back in the Groove. After a day, it has already raised more than $108,000.
The game go back to its original fixed isometric camera with simple controls. It will have a four-player cooperative mode and will be initially launched on the PC.
