Film festival
Durango’s 10th annual Independent Film Festival is March 4-8. The program includes documentaries, adventure films and more, along with free movie nights, beer-pairing dinners, meetings with filmmakers and various festival parties. Individual movie tickets begin at $12. Festival passes are available.
Family fun
SpringFest in Beaver Creek begins March 14. Through April 11, visitors can enjoy family-friendly apres-ski events such as disco skate nights, magic shows, kids parades, character meet-and-greets and much more.
Tribute to music
Telluride’s second annual Tribute Band Fest is March 19-21. Shows take place at the historic Sheridan Opera House, and four different bands will perform tributes to Michael Jackson, Fleetwood Mac, the Beatles and Journey. Tickets begin at $15. Three-day passes are available.
Pond skim
Visit Granby Ranch on March 28 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. for a beach bash and traditional pond skim. Celebrate spring and dance to beach music, or try the Ranch’s annual pond skim.
