Fruita Monument, a No. 7 seed, went into Centennial on Friday night and took down host and No 2 Arapahoe 44-41 in the second round of the Class 5A state playoffs.

The Wildcats moved to 15-10. The Warriors finished 19-5.

Macy Ziegler paced the Warriors with 14 points.

And there was noise elsewhere.

Also concerning the Western Slope, host Grand Junction took down the two-time defending state champion Regis Jesuit Raiders 54-53. The Raiders had a chance in the final seconds, but couldn’t get off a shot.

Elsewhere, Fairview invaded the city and beat Denver East, a No. 3 seed, 62-53.
