Interview with Jim Duginski, owner
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: My career started in Scottsdale, Ariz., 30 years ago. I worked every position in the industry, and now have 25 years of restaurant management experience. We were looking for a great location to establish our chef-driven concept, and we found it right in my neighborhood.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: We are a from-scratch restaurant, which means all of our recipes start from scratch. Our chefs, Eric and Karl, are here every day preparing family recipes and New American favorites. Having chefs in-house is not common in this area of town. We can modify our dishes to accommodate most dietary needs. Our hospitable staff will take great care of you in our beautiful, contemporary restaurant.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: I get to throw a party every day in my restaurant. It is amazing to serve delicious food and drink and provide a venue for people to come relax and enjoy themselves.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: The many hats that a small business owner gets to wear on a daily basis provides different challenges every day, which keeps my business interesting.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: Bracia means brothers in Polish, so owning the restaurant with my brothers and our Polish heritage made the name an easy fit. We do have a few Polish items on the menu, but we are an American bar and grill.
