Getting your player ready...

Terrance Knighton remains a popular free-agent target, but not for the teams expected when the season ended. The Raiders are out. They could always circle back, given coach Jack Del Rio’s affinity for Knighton, but the Raiders appear determined to spend money on a tight end or a running back.

The Broncos are out. They were never really in after the coaching changes and limited salary cap room.

In a fluid market, the Redskins, Colts, Chargers and Patriots have interest in Knighton. He will visit Washington on Wednesday. The former Temple star ranked ninth against the run among defensive tackles last season, according to Pro Football Focus.

The Colts enjoyed a huge Tuesday, signing 49ers running back Frank Gore, Eagles pass rusher Trent Cole and former Rams defensive end Kendall Langford. They continue to seek ways to improve their defense. The Chargers made a play for defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and want a better interior line. New England cut ties with run stuffer Vince Wilfork last week, creating a potential vacancy. The Texans are pursuing Wilfork.

While looking for value additions, the Broncos are counting on Sylvester Williams and Marvin Austin to improve under the coaching of new defensive line boss Bill Kollar.
