A United Airlines flight from Denver to Kansas City was forced to return to DIA after one of its tires blew on takeoff.
The drama played out Saturday morning and involved a de Havilland Dash 8-400, according to
Laura Coale, media relations director for Denver International Airport, told 7News the plane circled to burn off fuel before making a successful landing at 10:55 a.m.
Video taken by Danny Dodge in the cabin showed passengers bracing for impact and then cheering when the plane came to a stop.
The plane was kept on the runway, and passengers had to deplane and board buses.
The incident closed the runway until the plane could be towed, but DIA has five other runways so operations weren’t affected.
