Ken Buck addresses the crowd after securing the 4th District U.S. Congressional seat last Nov. 4. (Craig F. Walker, Denver Post file)
Re: “Ken Buck: Obama’s dangerous dance with Iran,” March 8 guest commentary.
Rep. Ken Buck’s rant on President Obama’s policies toward Iran illustrates that the biggest problem in Washington is the lack of integrity among the members of Congress sent there by places like the 4th District of Colorado.
Buck uses typical politically charged innuendo: “made a dangerous world a lot more dangerous,” “thrown in his lot with the Islamic Republic of Iran,” “never called Iran to account,” etc. But what Buck never does is provide an alternative. Is his proposal to invade Iran, bomb it, ignore it? Is his alternative more sanctions, and if so, of what nature? But Buck, like so many others, fails to offer an alternative.
Anyone can complain; leaders should lead. And The Post should hold leaders to a higher standard and not just print their rants without facts or alternative proposals.
