FORT COLLINS — D’Shara Strange notched a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds Thursday night, powering Northern Colorado to a 53-48 upset of Colorado State in a first-round WNIT game at Moby Arena.

Strange, a former Fountain High School standout, also had five assists, three steals and a block for the Bears (21-12), who overcame a 12-point deficit in the second half.

Kourteney Zadina hit two big 3-pointers to spark the second-half comeback, and Katie Longwell added 11 points.

AJ Newton scored 11 points and Alana Arias added 10 for the Rams (23-8), who won the regular-season Mountain West title.
