Two people were killed on Saturday in an accident on U.S. 285, a crash that shut down the highway west of Denver for several hours.
The accident involved a Jeep and a motorcycle, Colorado State Patrol trooper Josh Lewis said. Two people were confirmed dead at the scene.
Lewis said investigators were still examining the wreck, and he didn’t yet know what direction the vehicles were traveling in or other details of the accident. The crash happened shortly after 5p.m. near Shaffers Crossing.
The accident closed both directions of U.S. 285 for several hours. At 11 p.m., state Department of Transportation tweeted that U.S. 285 was open in both directions.
