There are plenty of apartments to rent in Denver. They’re just hard to find. Experts estimate there are some 13,000 apartments open at various price points throughout the Denver Metro area, however, over the last year, rents in Denver have skyrocketed. The average two-bedroom apartment right now is $1,390, thatap 45 percent higher than the national average.

So what can people get for $1,390?

Michelle Wilkins, whose unborn baby did not survive after being cut from her belly during an attack in Longmont, has , saying her baby is now a “light being.” Wilkins, 26, posted a statement on a crowdfunding page created to help support her recovery.

“Aurora is a light being now, nothing but ethereal joy and love,” the statement reads. “I can already feel itap going to be a long journey to physical and emotional recovery, but I’m grateful for every person that has reached out to help in their own way. You have my eternal gratitude.”

Dynel Lane, the woman suspected in the attack, was charged with eight felonies. She’s being held in lieu of $2 million bail.

The city of Denver is looking into. These wouldn’t be spacious restrooms in a building nor would they be porta-potties. But rather, the city is looking at toilets similar to what the city of Portland has: Simple, sturdy, flush-toilet kiosks called Portland loos.


They’re free and open around the clock. They’re also clean, safe and environmentally friendly.


Denver officials say there have been far too many complaints about public urination downtown with the increase of bars and restaurants, so they’re considering launching a pilot program in the coming months.
