A juvenile was arrested Sunday night in Colorado Springs after he allegedly assaulted and critically injured a 56-year-old man at a skate park in the city’s Memorial Park, police said.
Officers were called out to the skate park on the 1700 block of East Pikes Peak Avenue at about 8 p.m. on reports of an assault.
“Witnesses said the victim and the suspect interacted with each other before the (juvenile) suspect punched the victim one time in the face,” police said. “The male fell striking his head on the cement.”
The man was taken to Memorial Hospital where he was admitted in critical condition with head trauma, police said.
Police did not release the name of the juvenile arrested in the altercation.
