Michelle Wilkins, victim in Longmont attack, calls her unborn child a “light being”

Michelle Wilkins, whose unborn child did not survive earlier this month, released a statement late Sunday saying her baby is now a “light being.”

“Aurora is a light being now, nothing but ethereal joy and love,” the 26-year-old created to help support her recovery. “Forever in my heart.”

In the post, Wilkins thanked the public for prayers and positive thoughts, saying they have been deeply felt and .

“I can already feel it’s going to be a long journey to physical and (emotional) recovery, but I am grateful for every person that has reached out to help in their own way,” she said. “You have my eternal gratitude.”

Dynel Lane, 34, suspected in the attack, , including first-degree unlawful termination of pregnancy.

Lane is being held at the Boulder County . She is due in court for a preliminary hearing on May 5.
