3-D printing technology is shaping the manufacturing industry. “The things we can make are really limited only to our imagination,” said Debra Wilcox, principal founder of The 3D Printing Store in Denver. Wilcox’s team recently printed a prosthetic shell for a malnourished tortoise. The shell was created by a Colorado Technical University design student using 3D software. Wilcox said her customers include artists wishing to replicating statues, designers creating brand new prototypes and everyday consumers looking to replace a part that is no longer available from the original manufacturer.
