1 Heavy lifting. A 350-pound spool of copper wire was reported stolen March 10 from a construction site at 4929 S. Windermere St., Littleton. Police found a large hole in the fence and two sets of footprints leading away. The wire, which had been removed from the spool, was left behind, found alongside another building nearby.
2 Senior cell snatched. A woman living in the 7300 block of South Columbine Way, Centennial, reported that someone broke into her garage and rummaged through her unlocked car March 23. The suspect lodged a piece of metal into the car’s ignition, but never got it started. The victim’s AARP cellphone, valued at $50, was stolen.
3 Use your words. A man reported his ex-common-law wife hit him with what looked like a metal object after a verbal argument at his apartment in the 5200 block of South Fox Street, Littleton, on March 7. He told police she also came by March 5 and kicked in his door when he did not answer. She was taken into custody nearby.
4 Clear view to theft. A window was broken and a 27-inch iMac computer was stolen from an office located at 6901 S. Yosemite Court in Centennial overnight March 11 into March 12. The victim just bought the computer for $2,000. Another person who worked there said she had been leaving the blinds open overnight.
5 Egg knocking. A woman reported hearing someone trying to break into her house in the 6900 block of South Apache Street, Littleton, around 3:30 a.m. March 8. Police found eggs splattered on the house, and determined their impact woke the resident.
