We begin with an UberX driver being placed in custody, . Gerald Montgomery was arrested in Golden yesterday. He’s facing charges of attempted second degree burglary. Police say Montgomery returned to the woman’s home near the University of Denver and attempted to break into her house. He was scared away when the woman’s roommate noticed him at the back door.

Montgomery has been deactivated as an Uber driver, while the company says Montgomery passed all background checks before becoming a driver.

Police have sent out an alert that .

A surveillance camera captured a suspect in the shopping center placing one of the devices that capture private banking information that can then be used by thieves.

Three skimmers were found, including one with a camera near the dining hall at Park Meadows. Police are asking anyone who used the ATMs to monitor their bank accounts and encourage anyone who recognizes the suspect to come forward.

The former owner of a dog sledding business in Aspen . We’ve been reporting on allegations of animal cruelty against Dan MacEachen since 2005.

His company, Krabloonik Dog Sledding had been under fire for neglecting its mushing dogs, even shooting the dogs in the head when they became too old to work. MacEachen was charged in December 2013 after officials seized eight dogs that were underweight or in need of emergency medical attention.

Krabloonik has since been sold to new owners. As part of a plea deal, MacEachen pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor charge of animal cruelty, in exchange, seven other charges were dropped and he’ll likely avoid jail time.
