Taste of Vail The 25th annual Taste of Vail is April 8-11, with food-and-wine- pairing events, interactive seminars, mountaintop picnics, the Colorado Lamb Cook-Off, a grand tasting and more. Ticket prices per event vary. All-inclusive festival passes begin at $385.
Knitting festival The Interweave Yarn Fest is April 16-19 in Loveland. Knitting enthusiasts can attend a number of expert-taught workshops in knitted lace, double-hook crochet, embroidery and more. Fees vary per workshop.
Guided hike Take a guided nature hike through Devil’s Backbone Open Space in Loveland on April 17 and learn about the geology of the local landmark and its surrounding areas. The program lasts 1½ hours and is free, but registration is required. Hike begins at 9:30 a.m.
Birding in Karval The ninth annual Mountain Plover Festival is April 24-26 in Karval, in eastern Colorado. Enjoy unique bird watching and wildlife viewing experiences, educational programs, live entertainment, history tours, meals and more.
