Police in Colorado Springs arrested a 48-year-old man late Sunday at a hospital after he allegedly kicked an officer in the chest and chin.

The kicks left the officer with minor injuries, police said.

Kendall Blair is being held at the El Paso County jail on suspicion of second-degree assault on a police officer and obstruction. Jail records show he is being held in lieu of a total of $20,000 bail.

Police were called out to Memorial Hospital at about 9:45 p.m. to investigate a domestic assault when officials say during the course of their investigation Blair was tazed after becoming combative with officers.

“Blair was then placed on a gurney and shortly thereafter began to fight with officers and hospital staff,” police said.

While one officer was trying to secure Blair to the gurney, police say Blair kicked the officer twice in the chest and chin area.

“Blair was then restrained onto the gurney and later transported to the” county jail, police said.

The officer who was kicked sustained minor injuries but was able finish his shift, police said.
