Re: “Denver may decide soon on public toilet try-out on downtown streets,” March 30 news story.

My first trip to Europe celebrated college graduation in 1956. One discovery that fascinated me were the “pissoirs” on the streets of Paris. The convenience was amazing. The name is self-explanatory. Now, about 170 years after the first Paris pissoir, I read that the concept was “discovered” a few years back in Portland and is under consideration for Denver. Maybe Denver can catch up with technology and use a version of the Sanisette, which has replaced the pissoirs of Paris that were phased out 30 years ago. Or perhaps the Portland Loos that are under consideration there now. But that still would be playing catch-up to the Superloos already in place for some time in London.

We got men on the moon 50 years ago, but still are discussing how to take care of bodily functions in the semi-public arena.
