A Walsenburg man, who was once a member of the Colorado State Patrol and Fairplay police, was arrested Tuesday accused of having a sexual relationship with a teenage girl, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation reported.
Marc Ziolkowski, 43, was arrested Tuesday in Goodland, Kansas, and faces charges of sexual assault on a child.
He is being held without bond.
The CBI said it launched the investigation in 2014 based on information the Park County sheriff’s office received about an alleged child exploitation incident occurring in 2008. Officials said the two allegedly met through an online chat site.
Ziolkowski worked as a member of the Colorado State Patrol from September 2003 through February 2010. The CSP said he was a communications officer until July 2005 when he entered the training academy and was eventually assigned to Park County.
He resigned for personal reasons on February 10, 2010.
