1 RTD riders fend off attack. An intoxicated, enraged man was pulled off an RTD bus by other riders March 20 when he began pummeling the female driver in the 6400 block of Sheridan Boulevard, Arvada, after being refused service for lack of funds in Arvada. Officers tackled and arrested the brawler after he spit in the face of another rider and became aggressive with police.

2 Don’t shoot! A man pulled over March 19 for suspected drunken driving in the 5900 block of Wadsworth Boulevard, Arvada, raised his hands and said “don’t shoot” after stepping out of the vehicle. When asked by police if he was afraid of getting shot, he replied, “Well, you guys are shooting a lot of people.” The man was arrested after refusing a sobriety test.

3 Woman takes a bite out of husband. Police arrested a woman March 22 in the 10300 block of West 59th Place in Arvada after she bit her husband following an argument over him liking another woman.

4 Drugs, alcohol suspected in crash. Suspected drug paraphernalia was found in a vehicle that had smashed into a light pole March 25 near West 55th Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard in Arvada. The driver, who police reports stated smelled of alcohol, had his blood drawn after being rushed to the hospital for a broken collar bone and possible brain hemorrhaging.

5 Restraining order ignored. A 911 hang up call led police to a home in the 5900 block of Pierce Street in Arvada on March 20, where they arrested a man for being around his girlfriend in violation of a protection order.
