IMAX Corp. and The Walt Disney Studios have agreed on a three-year partnership that covers animated and live-action films such as the new Star Wars movie.
IMAX will remaster and be involved in the release of movies from studios such as Disney, Pixar, Lucasfilm and Marvel. These include the new Captain America movie, “Finding Dory” and “Guardians of the Galaxy 2.” The agreement runs through 2017.
IMAX senior executive vice president Greg Foster said the deal — an extension of the partnership between the company and Disney — “represents a next step toward creating a diversified slate.”
