The teen charged in the fatal November car accident that killed 16-year-old Broomfield High School student Chad Britton pleaded not guilty Wednesday.

The 17-year-old driver is facing charges of vehicular homicide, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the district attorney’s office. He is accused of driving the car that struck and killed Britton outside the school on Nov. 3.

The teen, who had his driver’s license for six days prior to the accident according to police, is accused of smoking marijuana before the car struck Britton.

A trial is scheduled for Aug. 3.
