Tonight-Tomorrow The European conquests of North America in the 1600s ushered in an interesting era of music as diverse cultures mingled their traditional sounds. The Ars Nova Singers revisit the period with a program tracing the mashup. It starts with “I Have Seen the Map of the World,” from Christopher Columbus’ days, and ends with “Missa Ego flow campi,” by Juan Gutiérrez de Padilla, who was born in Spain but emigrated to Mexico in 1620.
