A Denver man who shot and killed a cocaine dealer during a 2013 robbery attempt in Aurora was convicted Wednesday of a series of charges, including first-degree murder.
The 18th District Attorney’s Office said Kenneth Donald Mackey, 43, Nov. 26, 2013, attack.
Officials said Mackey and Gregory McCoy forced their way into the home of Martel Cornelius Thomas in the 1400 block of Lima Street.
Officials said Mackey and McCoy knew that Thomas, 65, was a cocaine dealer and wanted to steal any drugs, cash and valuables. Arming himself with a revolver, Thomas fatally shot McCoy once in the chest but was shot three times himself, prosecutors said.
