COLORADO SPRINGS — Two Air Force Academy cadets will face evidence hearings next week on allegations of sexual assault of fellow cadets.

On Monday, a hearing will begin for freshman cadet Phillip Hendrix IV, who is charged with abusive sexual contact. A charge sheet filed last month in the Hendrix case alleges that in September he forced a female cadet to fondle his genitals and also fondled her at the academy. More details in the case will be disclosed in the hearing.

Sophomore cadet Zachery L. Chubb was charged last month with abusive sexual contact and sexual assault after allegations that he fondled a female cadet and touched her genitalia. His hearing is set for Wednesday.

In each case, an officer will delve into the evidence to determine if it is sufficient to merit a court-martial.

Chubb and Hendrix are the third and fourth male cadets charged with sexual assault in recent months.
