Looking to add depth and mining local connections, the Broncos are working out Colorado State-Pueblo defensive lineman Josh Bredl on Friday.

Bredl, a mammonth 6-foot-7, 300-pounder, performed well at a recent pro day and attended the NFL super regional combine. Bredl posted 24 tackles last season. CSU-Pueblo won its first Division II national championship a year ago, blanking previously unbeaten Minnesota State 13-0.

Bredl starred at Horizon High School in Thornton, Colo., as a tight end. The Broncos signed former CSU-Pueblo star Chase Vaughn last season. His abbreviated bid to make the roster ended because of an injury.
