COLORADO SPRINGS — One person died and two were injured in a townhome fire Saturday at Georgetown Square near Constitution Avenue and North Academy Boulevard, police reported.
A witness said she saw emergency personnel performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on a man before he was put in an ambulance and rushed from the scene.
“He was in bad shape,” said Karen Washington. “They tried to save him, but I don’t think they did.”
Two people were hospitalized after the fire erupted about 2:40 p.m. in a townhome at the complex in the 3800 block of Constitution Avenue, said Colorado Springs Fire Lt. Fred Varnell.
