Fire danger is highly possible throughout Colorado on Sunday, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a red flag warning through the evening.
The service issued a red flag warning beginning Sunday afternoon until 7 p.m., said Scott Entrekin, meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
High winds and dry air have prompted the warning, Entrekin said, with gusts reaching 45 miles per hour in some parts of the state.
The northern region of the state is most affected, he said.
Sunday saw a high of 68 with lows in the 30s possible tonight, Entrekin said.
Monday is predicted to be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 60s.
“It’s going to get cooler and wetter as the week goes along, so we’re probably done with red flag warnings for a little while,” Entrekin said.
