Police in Denver say they have arrested a 28-year-old suspect in a hit-and-run earlier this month that left a man and his 6-year-old son — pedestrians — injured.

Manuel Banda Jr. is accused of felony charges and driving under the influence in the collision, police on Monday night.

Banda was located after witnesses to the hit-and-run identified him. Police say Banda ran over the father and his young son.

The hit-and-run happened late April 5 on the 900 block of South Tennyson Street. Witnesses told police Banda continued without stopping after hitting the father and son.

Police say they found the vehicle Banda was driving with “fresh damage” from the crash.
